Family Campfire
Wednesday, August 2nd
Woodcock Nature Center

Gather round the Woodcock fire for some s’mores and a good ‘ole fashioned family campfire. Enjoy good company in the great outdoors, play on our playground, enjoy some lawn games, kick-back… have a treat! Registration is requested, but walk-ins welcome.

The Ridgefield Playhouse

Get ready to be transported back to Studio 54! From ‪the Bee Gees, to Gloria Gaynor, to ‪Donna Summer, Chic, and so much more, it’s ‪Saturday Night Fever all over again! Visit Southwest Cafe for dinner before the show and enjoy a complimentary margarita with your entrée when you present your ticket.

RidgeCon Annual Pop Culture Celebration

Celebrate your favorite characters and fandoms with raffles, photo ops, cosplay contests, prizes, and drop-in activities. The retro-themed RidgeCon will feature Barbie, Scooby-Doo, D&D, Pokémon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, Star Trek and Super Mario among others.

Weir Farm National Historical Park

Visit Weir Farm for an afternoon of special Junior Ranger activities focusing on dragonflies, with fun dragonfly crafts and coloring. Find out how the park monitors mercury pollution through dragonfly larvae. Learn about the water cycle, and complete your own water cycle activity. No registration required, just stop by for some family fun!

A Garden of Verse: Poetry in the KTM&HC Gardens

Join us for the series finale of our popular summer poetry reading series! Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an evening of poetry featuring Antoinette Brim-Bell and Terry Blackhawk in a beautiful setting. This event is hosted by Ridgefield Poet Laureate Emeritus Barb Jennes.

Justin Willman – Magic for Humans in Person Tour

Justin Willman wants to melt your brain while making you laugh! Justin is a magician and comedian who’s mastered the art of turning cynics into believers (or at least getting them to laugh). His live show is simultaneously mind-blowing and hilarious, and will likely keep you up at night wondering how the heck any of it was possible.

Join us for an engaging evening of music featuring Grammy-winning double bassist Ranaan Meyer and the Charles Ives Music Festival Chamber Orchestra. The concert is programmed by Artistic Director, Paul Frucht, and conducted by Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra Music Director, Eric Mahl.

Summering with the Gilberts Exhibit

This exhibit explores life at the “Cannon Ball House” in the early 20th century with a focus on both the Gilbert family members and the staff, and learn more about the immigrant experience in Ridgefield, brought to life through compelling photography by Joseph Hartmann.

The Ridgefield Historical Society welcomes all to share their educational past and reflect on the evolution of Ridgefield schools from the district schoolhouses of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries to the present day educational system.

Alice Paul Presentation by Dr. Darla Shaw
Friday, August 18th
Weir Farm National Historical Park
Ridgefield storyteller and women’s studies scholar Dr. Darla Shaw will take on the role of Suffragist, Alice Paul, who lived less than a mile away from Weir Farm during the same time period as Dorothy Weir Young. Celebrates women’s history on the anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment which gave women the right to vote on August 18, 1920.

Join us for this in-person gallery tour of The Aldrich’s current exhibitions guided by a Museum Educator, including Raven Halfmoon: Flags of Our Mothers and Prima Materia: The Periodic Table in Contemporary Art. All ages welcome!

Harmonia will perform a diverse program of music from classical to contemporary with something for everyone! Music at the Mansion is an arts and cultural collaboration with the intent of offering chamber music of the highest artistic quality accessibly, while sharing the history and beauty of one of Ridgefield’s most treasured landmarks.

Art Walk Ridgefield
Begins Friday, August 25th
Downtown Ridgefield
The Ridgefield Guild of Artists invites the community to Art Walk Ridgefield, when the streets of downtown Ridgefield turn into a strolling art gallery. Art Walk Ridgefield will kick off on Friday, August 25th with artist meet and greets outside the stores and continues Saturday, August 26th with an artist’s day. Demonstrations are also planned outside storefronts in town on Saturday.

Impressionist Painting Workshop with Dmitri Wright
Saturday, August 26th
Weir Farm National Historical Park
Night painting was a favorite of Impressionist painters of Weir’s time and still is today. Taught by Impressionist artist and master instructor Dmitri Wright, this workshop will feature en plein air painting during the latter part of the day and early part of the night.

Al Jardine and his Endless Summer Band
Saturday, August 26th
The Ridgefield Playhouse
Al Jardine, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, is best known for being one of the founding members of the California-based group The Beach Boys. In 2023, Al continues to tour with his Endless Summer Band which includes his son Matt Jardine plus Debbie Shair (from the band Heart) and longtime Beach Boys backing band members Ed Carter and Bobby Figueroa.

Open Schoolhouse Days

Peter Parley Schoolhouse
The Peter Parley Schoolhouse honors the author and alumnus Samuel G. Goodrich (pen name Peter Parley). The afternoon will feature a lesson by Dr. Darla Shaw, portraying Parley’s sister, Abigail Goodrich Whittlesey – an engaging opportunity to learn more about the man, the school, and the times in which they lived. No registration required.
