Event Details

Come see the new show at the D.Colabella Fine Arts Gallery on Thursday, July 13th at 6:00PM for the Opening Reception featuring Franki Vinci, Tim Sway, and Greg Cohan. The exhibit will be on display from July 13th through September 12th.

D.Colabella Fine Arts has selected three artists for the next exhibition, Icons & Rock N’ Roll. With the eye-catching pop art of Frankie Vinci, the unique and functional guitars made of reclaimed material by Time Sway, and the sports icon photography of Greg Cohen, this exhibition will be an exploration of the power of American entertainment. “We’re excited to welcome back Frankie Vinci and Tim Sway, both of whom had very successful and engaging shows in RPAC Gallery in previous years,” said Dee Dee Colabella, owner of D.Colabella Fine Arts. “We will be welcoming the photography of Greg Cohen this show to round out the exhibition. It will be a great time!”

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

FRANKIE VINCI
Frankie is a Multi-Platinum songwriter / recording artist and has shared the stage and or worked in the recording studio alongside iconic names such as: Aerosmith, Van Halen, Alice Cooper, Meat Loaf, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tim McGraw, Roberta Flack, Dino Danelli & Gene Cornish (Rascals), Wally Bryson (Raspberries), Ricky Byrd (Joan Jett, Roger Daltrey), Robert Lamm (Chicago), Phil Ramone, Eddie Kramer, etc…
Frankie’s Pop Art is inspired by music, fashion, film and the vintage billboards that have been distressed by weather and time. The multi-layered backstage passes, concert posters covering the dark alleys and backstage walls in Rock clubs like CBGB’s, all add fire to Frankie’s creativity. Frankie’s artful eye sees the beauty in subway graffiti, random paint drips, metal rust, torn paper, combined with detailed painting and carefully composed layouts. His flair for color combinations and the placement of iconic images over his canvases is creating a buzz in the art community.

TIM SWAY
Tim Sway is an artist/maker based out of Meriden, Conn. After a career as a touring and recording musician, Tim left music to pursue making goods from reclaimed and sustainable materials. Close to two decades of traveling for a living made him acutely aware how important it is to consume less and live locally. Tim began his maker career creating custom furniture, sculpture and more from locally sourced reclaimed materials, but the business quickly evolved back to music. Nowadays, he mostly makes eco conscious guitars and instruments for his company, New Perspectives Music. In addition to his sustainability mission, Tim creates videos about his work on YouTube, to share what he learns, to encourage others to think eco consciously, and to chase their dreams.

GREG COHEN
Greg Cohen is an editorial photographer focused on portrait and documentary projects. His stories include orphans in Cambodia, animal adoption in the US and the universal magic of ice cream.

His work has reached people through publications like the New York Times, the LA Times, TIME, Fortune, the Contributor and multiple international publications; and gallery exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Denver, and most recently at Sotheby’s New York.
Clients include HULU, Motorola, Amazon, Flock DC, NBC, ABC, Lifetime, Youtube, Autism Speaks, Fatburger, Paris Baguette, Pasadena Humane Society, Cambodia Tomorrow, Blackboard Eats and The Hotel Cafe. After 25 years in Los Angeles, Greg has returned to the east coast where he lives with his wife Robin, their son Sullivan and their aussiedoodle Samosa, all of whom are very well documented.
