Come to Lounsbury House to celebrate Connecticut’s 53rd Governor, Phineas Lounsbury, born here in Ridgefield. On this special day, we thank you for your support to preserve Lounsbury’s beautiful 19th century community landmark and gathering place for many of our area’s most memorable events.

Celebrate Suffragist Alice Paul Day with Ridgefield League of Women Voters

January 14th
On January 14th, First Selectman Rudy Marconi will be the guest speaker at the League of Women Voters of Ridgefield’s Alice Paul Day and kick-off celebration for the 100th anniversaries of the founding of the League of Women Votes and the ratification of the 19th amendment. Join us at Keeler Tavern’s Garden Room for coffee and conversation.

Author Luncheon: “My Beautiful Detour” by Amy Oestreicher

Once upon a time, Amy Oestreicher had plans for college and dreams of Broadway. But all that changed one week before her senior prom. She was rushed to the hospital where her stomach exploded, literally, and after months in a coma, she learned she may never eat or drink again. Meet the Author, Antonio Paulo Pinto, at RPAC Gallery! Over the last two decades, Antonio Paulo Pinto has been focused on health insurance and access to health care, primarily within the individual and small business markets. This includes significant experience with Obamacare. Pinto participated with the program’s roll-out and implementation, enrolling thousands of individuals, families, and small business owners and their employees. He was also responsible for the creation and launch of Obamacare411, the first iPhone app for PPACA with an integrated health plan cost calculator.

Echoes of Sinatra & Dino – A Concert To Benefit Sandy Hook Promise

Good friends on and off stage, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin (Dino) performed the iconic music written by the best songwriters and lyricists of their day. This fantastic show presents the vocal stylings of Steven Kazlauskas paying homage to the legendary Sinatra, and the equally talented Dean Martin tribute artist, Jack Lynn. All proceeds from this performance will benefit Sandy Hook Promise.

Join us for an evening of cabaret with Duane Lanham & Dany Rousseau and The Big Barn Trio as part of our Ridgefield Theater Barn Lounge series! Duane & Dany bring their killer voices, sharp comic timing and cheeky chemistry to our stage for their Lounge show. Doors open at 7:00 pm for patrons to enjoy BYO food & drink. Show starts at 8:00 pm.

Get the Led Out, a celebration of “The Mighty Zep,” returns to The Playhouse stage after a sold-out show last year! Hear the songs that the legendary Led Zeppelin created including “Kashmir,” “Whole Lotta Love,” “Dazed and Confused” and the iconic “Stairway to Heaven.”

On January 11th, join us for a Health Screening, presented by Peterson Chiropractic and Acupuncture. Some of the tests performed at the screening include testing blood pressure, spinal check for old injuries, and sports chiropractic screening for shoulder, foot and ankle complaints. Then, on January 27th, the Wellness Education Series continues with the Punching Out Parkinson’s workshop where you can learn about no-contact boxing and it’s benefits to ease the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Rock Steady certified coach, Richard Molyneux, will help you understand how boxing can improve balance, mobility, strength, and cognitive thinking.

Embrace the Arts

Guest Artist, Emily Hamilton Laux Opening Reception
RPAC Art Center and Academy
January 9th
Join us for the upcoming exhibit, Beauty Versus Beauty featuring Guest Artist, Emily Hamilton Laux. The photographic images in Beauty Versus Beauty explore ideas about biodiversity, ecosystems and the human relationship with plants and their beauty. Emily’s first project on biodiversity is a series of images of native and invasive species of plants, suspended in vintage jars of water. The work now includes flora presented in casseroles; some of these are botanical “portraits” of specific gardens or ecosystems where Emily gathers her flora.

Compassion: Member Themed Show

Opening Reception: Saturday, January 18th at 4:00pm. We’re starting off 2020 with a new attitude and ask our members to share your “compassion” through your artwork in our first exhibition of the new year. In these times of high anxiety and extreme tribalism, let’s try a little caring and understanding. Consider artwork that speaks to a kinder, gentler world. Aldrich Uncorked: Costumed Drink & Draw

Grab a glass of wine and join us in exploring the basics of figure drawing with artist and Aldrich Educator Lisa Scroggins. Draw inspiration from figure model Mercedes, who will be in full costume, and experiment with a variety of materials such as charcoal, oil pastel, and graphite sticks.
