Show Dad the Love: Father’s Day Favorites in Ridgefield

Dads are simultaneously hard-working, busy, and a whole lot of fun, so Father’s Day is the perfect time to show him how much you love him! Whether he’s a quality time guy or loves to receive a token of appreciation, you’ll find the perfect way to show you care #inRidgefield.

There’s nothing like the gift of quality time – sometimes it comes in the form of alone-time, and for others it’s best shared together. Either way, dad will love enjoying a few of our favorite “Dadtivities” around town!

Run with dad in the annual Father’s Day 5K and Fun Run to support local Boy Scout Troop 431. With prizes for all age groups and a raffle, it’s a great way to kick off the day. If he’s a regular Arnold Palmer (or wishes he were), he’ll love a round at the Ridgefield Golf Course, or a fitting and some lessons at the Golf Performance Center. He may very well prefer you to join him on the course, but don’t forget you can always give memberships as well as single lessons or golf rounds!

Perhaps a few friends would like to gift a foursome to your favorite dads. If fitness is a top priority, send him to StretchLab, Marco Franciamore, or Highlife by Tom for a few sessions where he’ll get one-on-one attention to attain his goals.

Grab your tennis racquets and hit the courts together! Tennis is a great sport for families and people of all ages and with two sets of public courts in town, it’s the perfect thing to do together. It goes without saying that Ridgefield’s outdoor spaces are the perfect place to spend time together – or let him enjoy some quiet time with nature. Between hiking, biking, and watersports and fishing at Bennett’s Pond, Seth Low Pierrepont, Martin Park Beach there are so many ways to enjoy nature and the outdoors in Ridgefield.

Why not kick off the celebration the night before? Enjoy a date with dad with a fabulous performance by jazz singer Melody Gardot at The Ridgefield Playhouse. Or if he appreciates art take him to Third Saturdays at the Aldrich or the Ridgefield Guild of Artists’ new pop-up exhibit opening. With every weekend packed full of activities, be sure to check our Events Calendar for the latest happenings.

Enjoy a Delicious Meal Together

A seeming staple of celebrations, dining out is a wonderful way to honor dad for Father’s Day. For a delicious meal with beautiful outdoor spaces and often weekend music, you’ll want to book ahead at many of Ridgefield’s restaurants.

Dads who appreciate fine dining and love history must try The Benjamin, Ridgefield’s newest restaurant. Located on West Lane in the old Bernard’s, enjoy the freshly renovated and sophisticated space, and a drool-worthy menu of cocktails and wine to boot. Distinctly American with a French flair, it’s the perfect spot for both foodies and an elevated experience.

Those who just love a simple meal out will love the simplicity of casual favorites. Head to Odeen’s at the Ridgefield Golf Course for a peaceful meal overlooking their beautiful greens, or take a ride up to Nod Hill for a craft brew, food truck eats, and some live tunes.

Grab a juicy burger, fries, or a shake at our favorite go-tos Prime Burger or Bareburger – check out their menus for allergen-friendly and lighter options if dad is watching his intake. Or enjoy a freshly baked slice of pizza at Brick House, 850°, Michael Angelo’s, or Genoa, where you’ll also find options including salads, sandwiches, and other Italian fare.

A Gift for Every Interest

If he’s a sentimental guy or just loves opening (and cherishing) a gift, we’ve got dad covered with all that Ridgefield offers for even the man who has everything.

The DIY Dad will love a gift card, tool, or project supplies from Ridgefield Hardware and Ridgefield Supply, and though you might prefer to back away when he gets the tools out, remember to offer a hand to the do-all guy. Ridgefield Hardware also carries grills and grilling utensils as well as other outdoor goods, so stop in and you’ll be sure to find something for him.

If he’s getting ready to run in the Father’s Day 5k, maybe it’s time to gift him a new pair of shoes, a water bottle, or shorts! Ridgefield Running has whatever he needs to hit the pavement or the trails. If he’s looking for some sharp and luxurious pieces for work or play, J. McLaughlin has a selection of fine menswear in-shop, perfect for the upcoming summer months.

Bookworms (and those who leave a book on the nightstand for a month or more) will appreciate a new read from Books on the Common. With a wide selection of books for every interest as well as cards and other gifts, put a little package of quiet time together for him.

And speaking of quiet time, The Gift MedSpa might just be dad’s ticket to relaxation. With a menu of treatments like hyperbaric oxygen therapy and IV nutrient therapy, they offer a unique approach to wellness. Consider a gift certificate for a truly distinct experience. Or consider a relaxing massage or haircut for him at one of Ridgefield’s top salons.

If Dad is on the pickier side, or you simply prefer to let him choose his own gift, give the most flexible gift in town: an e-gift card from the Chamber of Commerce. He can use it at any participating Chamber member, including restaurants, shops, and other services!
