Consisting of 305 acres, Seth Low Pierrepont State Park was a gift to the Connecticut State Park and Forest Commission. Seth Low Pierrepont, a millionaire and diplomat, bequeath part of his estate to CT after his death in 1956. He wanted the fantastic woodlands within his property and Pierrepont Pond (or Lake Naraneka as Seth Low Pierrepont called it) to be enjoyed by the local community as a public recreation area. Today, visitors are welcome to hike along one of the Park’s beautiful trails as well as fish and boat in the pond.
