18 Excellent Outdoor Dining Spots in Ridgefield

While you’re on Main Street, the kids will no doubt spy Deborah Ann’s Sweet Shoppe, so why not let them enjoy a little treat outside as well? (You just might find something for yourself, too!)

If you find yourself at The Marketplace at Copps Hill craving a little caffeine, be sure to stop into Ross Bread Shoppe. With drinks made to order, sweet treats, prepared food, and freshly baked breads, it’s worth a separate trip.

Kid-Friendly Favorites

Save whoever is on dishwashing duty some trouble and enjoy a casual family night out! Everyone loves pizza, the all-American burger, and a belly-filling diner… and we have just the places to venture here in town. For a mindful, sustainable, and allergen-friendly experience, you’ll want to head to Bareburger. Traditional and vegan burgers, wings, salads, and dessert will have your entire family covered! Did we say dedicated fryers? (If you know, you know!)

Head downtown and enjoy the shade of the umbrellas outside Prime Burger. A more traditional burger joint, they focus on burgers, fries, and shakes, but also offer chicken, turkey, salmon, and veggie patties – and toppings galore!

If wood-fired pizza is calling your name, enjoy the outdoor patio at 850° Wood Fired. Their extensive menu of freshly made pizza and entrées will keep everyone happy, and you don’t even need to leave Fido at home for this outing! The Italian-lover will have a difficult time choosing from the menu at Brick House. From their artisanal pizzas, to calzones, apps, and sandwiches, you’ll want to make a night of it. Stay awhile and enjoy their live music, too!

If getting out during the day is more your family’s speed, pop over to Wooster Hollow Café for breakfast or lunch and enjoy sitting in their outdoor tent. Offering killer breakfast options including waffles, omelets, and steak and eggs as well as classic lunch dishes from sandwiches to salads, you’ll find Wooster Hollow friendly, convenient, and affordable.

Exotic Escape

When your taste buds are calling for a little more culture, Ridgefield can take you south of the border or across the ocean. Fine Italian dining will beckon you down Big Shop Lane, where you’ll find TerraSole Ristorante. With a robust wine menu, unique, flavorful dishes, and often too-appropriate music playing, close your eyes and imagine you’re tucked into the hillside of a coastal village.

And speaking of coastal towns, Tablao will take you right to Spain’s Mediterranean coast. Enjoy a broad menu of fresh seafood and tapas as well as a generous wine menu. The endless possibilities will have you planning your return trip before you’ve ordered!

Head south to warmer weather (at least mentally) with a taste of Mexico’s finest flavors. It goes without saying that the tequila connoisseur will love Tequila Escape – if not only for its libations. Freshly prepared margaritas and tequilas served neat will strike your fancy, as will their hardy menu. Try a few of their small plates or seafood, upleveled tacos, and beautifully presented traditional main courses.

The patio at Southwest Café is ready to welcome you for the flavorful simplicity that makes TexMex so good. Enjoy staples like tacos, quesadillas, and burritos in-house or take out a family-style meal for the gang to devour at home.

Casual Outdoor Experiences

Day or night, our final picks are the perfect places to casually enjoy a meal or even just a cool drink. Downtown you’ll find a local gem in Bailey’s Backyard. Known for their refined, new American cuisine, they focus on creating dishes with local ingredients, including fish caught in the nearby Sound. Take note, however – you’ll want to make a reservation to savor this Ridgefield standout!

The golfers in town will already know about the beautiful view from the deck at Odeen’s BBQ overlooking the Ridgefield Golf Course. But clubs aren’t necessary to enjoy this low-key spot! Grab a cold beer and a bite from their delicious menu of traditional barbecue faves – you’ll be in the summer mood in no time!

Sometimes all you need is a cold brew, and Nod Hill Brewery is hands down the perfect place to relax outside, especially when they have live music! They have a weekly schedule of food trucks as well so you won’t have to imbibe on an empty stomach either. Check out their events calendar for details.

Their large patio offers ample seating with umbrellas for share when the weather really heats up.
