Wellness Reset

The new year is the ideal time to set new fitness goals. The Ridgefield Recreation Center offers diverse programs for the whole family that can help get your fitness program on track. They even offer a free one week fitness trial, which is a great way to try a new approach to your fitness this year. From yoga to pickleball, dance, swimming, horseback riding and everything in between – the Rec Center will surely add some spark to your fitness plan for the year.

Working to get your body and mind aligned? Visit Stretch Lab Ridgefield, where you’ll find a number of benefits. And to experience wildlife up close and personal, grab the kids and make your way to Woodcock Nature Center. Enjoy their gorgeous property and grounds, and take a lap around their playscape made entirely of wood from the surrounding area. You’ll feel completely immersed in nature without having to go far.

Learn Something New

What better resolution than to expand your mind and learn something new? You can find classes and groups around town where you’ll make some friends and take on a new journey together. Head to The Ridgefield Library, where you’ll be able to find book discussion groups spanning multiple disciplines so you’re sure to find one that suits your fancy. Snuggle up with an amazing book, mark your favorite spots, and get ready for a lively discussion!

History buffs will definitely want to make their way to the Ridgefield Historical Society to explore their historic headquarters and join the Ridgefield History Club, where members gather monthly to share memories and recollections from town. Come to discuss our town’s history, stay for the friendships and good times. The Keeler Tavern Museum offers classes on-site and virtually where you can learn all about Ridgefield’s history and engage with interactive lessons. You’ll hear stories from all throughout time, making your connection to town that much more personal.

Explore your creative side

The Ridgefield Guild of Artists is a fantastic place to exercise your creativity. They offer the gamut of art classes – from life drawing sketching to abstract painting, from printmaking to watercolor for a start. And at their art lectures, exhibitions, and community outreach events, you’ll meet those who may just inspire your next work!

Creatives (or those who just want to be more creative!) can expand their craft or further their knowledge at RPAC Art Center and Academy. Begin your hand at Fashion Illustration, Tattoo Art Creation, Children’s Book Writing and Illustration, and Comic and Character Design. Explore your creative side this year and have fun while doing it.

Do you want to start the year off by writing that story that’s been rattling around in your head? From creative writing and poetry classes, to crafting and book discussions, you’ll find so many ways to feed your creative side at The Ridgefield Library. A wide array of programs and classes are offered for every interest. Find your new passion this year at the library!

Hollywood calling? Start your acting journey, or take it to the next level, at the Ridgefield Theater Barn. Adults can take an improv workshop, find your calling in comedy, or dive into a drama. Meet likeminded thespians and let the show begin.
