As the month of March begins, many of us are looking forward to what’s coming in the weeks ahead as we welcome the spring season. Join us in visiting our wonderful museums in town, viewing exciting new exhibits, exploring the beautiful outdoors, and tuning in for amazing performances happening this month. Rock of Ages
Now through – March 19th
ACT of Connecticut
Rock of Ages takes you back to the time of big bands with big egos playing big guitar solos and sporting even bigger hair! This five-time Tony Award-nominated Broadway hit will transport you back to a simpler time – 1987! Performances will be held on Thursdays at 7pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm & 8pm, Sundays at 2pm. Additional Performance: Sunday, March 5th at 7pm.

Aldrich After Hours
Friday, March 3rd
The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum
Explore our new exhibitions on view including Kathleen Ryan: Head and Heart, Prima Materia: The Periodic Table in Contemporary Art, and Hangama Amiri: An Homage to Home during Aldrich After Hours! Take short exhibition tour while enjoying a drink during our bi-monthly social gathering.

First Sunday at Keeler Tavern Museum

On First Sundays, all visitors receive free site admission, which includes a tour of our historic tavern museum, access to our current exhibits and beautiful grounds, and special hands-on activities and crafts in the historic Garden House. This month, it’s all about stamping and planting! Stamp linen with potato prints and prepare snap pea seeds for planting for good luck! These activities, inspired by St. Patrick’s Day and Irish traditions.

Camerata d’Amici Winter Concert

St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church
Camerata d’Amici is a 30-member auditioned choral ensemble, drawn from towns in Fairfield and Westchester counties. Their Winter Concert titled “Let Me Fly” will present a wonderfully thrilling and heartwarming musical selections loved by audiences. Kristin Sponheim is founder, artistic director, and conductor of the Camerata d’Amici.

Female Spies in WWII with Toni McKeen
Tuesday, March 7th
Ridgefield Library
There were many women who did their part during World War II by serving as spies for their country. Join us for this fascinating online lecture with Toni McKeen to learn more about two of the most famous spies: Nancy Wake and Tokyo Rose. Special guest Toni McKeen is a frequent lecturer on many topics including genealogy, travel, architecture and notable people.

An Evening of One Acts
Begins March 10th
Ridgefield Theater Barn
The 2023 An Evening of One Acts will feature eight short plays in the Ridgefield Theater Barn’s signature cabaret theater style. Audience members are encouraged to bring food and drink to enjoy before the show. The production will be presented on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm beginning March 10th through April 1st.

Camerata d'Amici

Masterclass Drumming with Carter McLean
Saturdays – March 11th & 25th
The Ridgefield Playhouse
Delve into the world of drumming with drumming luminary, Carter McLean. Join a Beginner/Intermediate Master Class on March 11th or an Intermediate/Advanced Master Class on March 25th, taking your playing and thinking to a new level. After a 3 hour class with McLean, you’ll have a year’s worth of homework. Attendance is limited to 15 per class, all ages are welcome.

Owl Prowl at Sarah Bishop Preserve

Sarah Bishop Preserve
Join Woodcock Nature Center’s educator Tommy McCarthy and members of the Ridgefield Conservation Commission on this evening walk at the Sarah Bishop Preserve to learn about and listen for some of the eight owl species which can be found in our state. Early March is an ideal time to join an owl prowl, as owls become more active and vocal for the breeding season.

Free Diversity Film Screening – Erin Brockovich
Monday, March 13th
The Ridgefield Playhouse
See the hard-hitting and empowering film back on the big screen in recognition of Women’s History Month. This 2000 biographical drama film features the story of Erin Brockovich who fought against the energy corporation Pacific Gas and Electric regarding its role in the Hinkley groundwater contamination incident.

State of the Town Address with First Selectman Rudy Marconi
Thursday, March 16th

The Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce invites all local businesses to attend the breakfast for the Annual State-of-the-Town Address with First Selectman Rudy Marconi. The Chamber will also be recognizing local individuals who have gone above and beyond this past year serving their community, all of which have been nominated and voted on by town residents.

Opening Receptions for “The Artist Path” Exhibit and “What Was, Still Is” Exhibit

RPAC Gallery & D. Colabella Fine Art Gallery
Join RPAC Gallery and D. Colabella Fine Art Gallery for a first look at their latest exhibits! “The Artist Path” Exhibit at RPAC Gallery features works from RPAC Resident Artist and RPAC Students. The “What Was, Still Is” Exhibit is an abstract series by Ellen Schiffman.

Third Saturdays
Saturday, March 18th
The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum
Visit the Museum for free on the third Saturday of every month. The Aldrich will host a Story Time for Kids in collaboration with the Ridgefield Library at 10:30am, and an All Ages Discovery Tour of the current exhibitions guided by our Museum Educators at 1:00pm.

Ms President US is a non-partisan, non-profit, community-based initiative, dedicated to inspiring and preparing girls to aim for the highest leadership positions and know they can achieve them. Come watch our future female leaders (4th-8th grade) deliver their campaign speeches – your vote can help elect the next Ms President US of your town!

48th Annual RVNAhealth Wellness Fair
Saturday, March 25th
East Ridge Middle School
The Annual RVNAhealth Wellness Fair is a mission-driven community event that provides expertise from head to toe. The Fair features: a range of free health screenings; a field of medical experts and professionals who will be available for Q&A, and other valuable information from RVNAhealth Experts.

The Machine Performs Pink Floyd
Saturday, March 25th
The Ridgefield Playhouse
The Machine performs Pink Floyd returns for a night of classics from Pink Floyd’s extensive 16-album repertoire, complete with faithful renditions of popular hits as well as obscure gems. Join us in the lobby beginning at 7pm for an exclusive tasting courtesy of Vengeance Vodka, or visit 3 Keys Restaurant & Georgetown Tavern for dinner before the show and enjoy a complimentary glass of house wine with your entrée when tickets are presented.

“Cameraworks” Exhibit
Open now through Sunday, March 26th
Ridgefield Guild of Artists
“Cameraworks” is open now at the gallery! The exhibit features all forms of photographic arts, from the most traditional to the least conventional in both black and white or color, film or digital, photo collage, montage, and videos. Special thanks to Paula Tognarelli for jurying this show. A final viewing and Walk & Talk will be held on Sunday, March 26th from 2-4pm.

Take a Peek into Preschool with Ridgefield Academy
Tuesday, March 28th
Online event with Ridgefield Academy/Landmark Preschool
Join Landmark Preschool for an informal online visit on Tuesday, March 28th to learn about Landmark’s caring, collaborative school environment, the structure of a day, and take a peek into a classroom as students engage in purposeful learning experiences. Landmark Preschool (Ages 2-5) is located in Ridgefield, Westport, and Bedford, NY.

“Color, Concept, Creativity” Exhibit
Through March 29th
Ridgefield Library
Join the Ridgefield Library to view this retrospective exhibition of paintings by H. Lloyd Weston in the Library gallery. Weston is an internationally renowned Jamaican artist who has exhibited brilliantly colored Impressionist landscapes and abstract paintings throughout the U.S. and abroad.
