Event Details
The Young Writers’ Conference is a free program held to inspire creativity and excitement about creative writing. Children in grades 3-5 are invited to the Ridgefield Library to write with us! Our April series will focus on poetry.
We’ll meet for three weeks, each week focusing on a new area of creative writing. You must be able to attend all three Thursday 4:30 PM sessions in a series. Please register.
Our first session on April 11th will include a lecture from poet Barb Jennes with time for writers to begin their own poems. During our second session on April 25th, we’ll dive into poetry exercises and focused writing time. The last session on May 2nd will be devoted to an hour of finishing and editing their work, followed by a family-invited reception and author sharing from 5:30-6:00 pm for parents and friends to enjoy readings by the authors.
Writing materials will be provided to all attendees. If you’d like, you can bring your own notebook or laptop to write with. Join us!
This program is sponsored by Ridgefield’s Joint Council of PTAs.
