Winter Tracking and Tree Identification Walk

Saturday, February 10 from 10:30am – 12pm

​Ever seen some strange looking tracks in the snow or mud and wondered what left them? On this casual excursion through the woods, we will learn how to identify the tracks and sign of different mammals that might live around our trails! Very few mammals in Connecticut are true hibernators – while some slow down and take more naps, many also remain active through the winter searching for food and staying warm. Along the way we will also look at trees and learn how to identify certain species using bark patterns and texture.
