Mark your calendars for the return of our July 4th Celebration commemorating the opening day of our museum on July 4, 1966! The historic tavern museum will be open for station tours, we’ll have an official reading of the Declaration of Independence, and there will be fun family games and activities, slices of watermelon for visitors of all ages, and live music by the always popular Angry O’Haras. Join us at the Town of Ridgefield’s Fireworks! Purchase a parking pass ($20 per car) online or in person at Town Hall or Fairfield County Bank. Only one ticket is necessary per car, please have your printed order confirmation or ticket on your dashboard and ready at the gate. No grills or alcohol are permitted. Gates open at 6pm! Melissa McGuire’s Cabaret Show

As part of the RTB Lounge series, the Theater Barn is presenting Melissa McGuire: Give Me The Simple Life. Known for her fabulous voice and charming wit, Mrs. McGuire will regale audiences with Broadway and jazz standards from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s in a unique cabaret, story-telling evening. Terrence Mahon’s FIRST RESPONSE: A Collection of Works is an exhibition taking a direct look at several cases of police brutality and social injustice between 2015 and 2020 through the lens of a multimedia installation. Terrence Mahon is a multimedia artist based in Connecticut. His work can be found in several collections throughout the Northeast ranging from oil on canvas, to plaster figurative sculptures, and wood/metal works. Learn more

Thrown Stone’s fifth season features two new plays about friendship, competition, and coming of age in today’s world. Gracie Gardner’s “Athena” stars Mary Wallace and Athena who are brave young fencers training for the Junior Olympics. They practice together, they compete against each other, they spend their lives together…. They wish they were friends! Get tickets

Opening Reception for “Follow the Music” Exhibit
Thursday, July 14th
RPAC Gallery
Tim Sway’s art uses reclaimed and upcycled materials to create unusual and traditional high-quality musical instruments. Over a dozen uniquely created guitars featuring reclaimed and locally sourced wood and other objects pulled from the waste stream will be on view. As an interactive highlight, viewers and musicians will be encouraged to play selected instruments throughout the exhibit. Learn more

Visit the Museum for free on the third Saturday of every month. Participate in a Story Time at 10:30 am, a family-friendly tour of 52 Artists: A Feminist Milestone at 1 pm, and drop-in to The Studio for a guided family-friendly art-making activity from 12 noon to 4 pm. Five For Fighting and The Verve Pipe are teaming up for one night only to bring their hits to The Ridgefield Playhouse! Five for Fighting, best known for the Grammy Award-nominated song “Superman (It’s Not Easy)” and the sentimental smash hit, “100 Years,” Five for Fighting has sold more than 2.5 million albums. CHIRP is a beloved summer tradition of free summer concerts. Concerts are held at Ballard Park in the heart of Ridgefield on Tuesday and Thursday nights and begin at 7:00pm.
