Summer days are here! Now is the time of the year where we can enjoy time outdoors and participate in all the summer activities we have longed for. Take a look at our favorite things to do in Ridgefield during summer time – from swimming and kayaking, to outdoor concerts, cultural town events, and lots of great food. We are so excited for all the amazing adventures this summer season has to offer here in Ridgefield!

1. Enjoy the great outdoors

Ridgefield has more than 5,200 acres of open space so there are plenty of places to enjoy nature in Ridgefield. Explore Hemlock Hills, Bennetts Pond State Park, or any of Ridgefield’s trails. For a beautiful sight, the trails at Seth Low Pierrepont State Park will lead you to the top of Barlow Mountain offering a panoramic view of Pierrepont Lake and Redding hills. 2. Indulge in the arts

The arts community is a strong part of what makes Ridgefield a great place to live and visit. Visit RPAC Gallery to see Tina Cobelle-Sturges Exhibit on display through August 1st, view the Ridgefield Guild of Artists’ 11th Annual Juried Member Show open now, and their Bedlam Summer Show opening June 26th. And finally, visit the The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum to get a chance to view one-of-a-kind exhibits featured in The New York Times and participate in their workshops and events. And visit the Museum for free the third weekend of every month.

3. Join the Annual Make Music Day around Ridgefield

Visit Ridgefield on June 21st, 2021 for this year’s Make Music Day celebration all around town, presented by Ridgefield Arts Council. Join us all across Ridgefield for musical events and local talent at Ridgefield Town Hall, Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center featuring Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Lounsbury House, Ballard Park, the West Lane Inn, RPAC Gallery, and more! 4. Ride with Ridgefield Bicycle Sport Club

Summer is the perfect season to get into biking. The Ridgefield Bicycle Company hosts weekly group bike rides for riders of all levels. You can even join them on their “Thirsty Thursdays” ride and enjoy a bite with the group. View their upcoming schedule and learn more

5. Enjoy an amazing brunch

Brunch is a perfect way to kick off the weekend! Ridgefield’s restaurants offering mouth watering brunch menus including Georgia Peaches French Toast at The Hideaway, Seasonal Veggies Omelettes and mimosas at Tequila Escape, or delicious Morning Crêpes at Sucré Salé. 6. Enjoy CHIRP Concerts at Ballard Park

There’s nothing quite like outdoor music on a warm summer night! Enjoy this year’s summer line up of CHIRP concerts at Ballard Park. Concerts are held every Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7:00pm. Donations are always appreciated. CHIRP concerts are funded by individual and foundation donations, as well as contributions from local businesses. 7. Treat yourself at Deborah Ann’s Sweet Shoppe

A hot summer afternoon calls for a delicious ice cream sundae! Deborah Ann’s Sweet Shoppe is a town favorite, offering an endless variety of homemade ice cream along with a shop full of premier chocolates, candies, and seasonal gift items. 8. Catch a show at The Ridgefield Playhouse

Ridgefield is lucky to have an abundance of entertainment and this summer you can enjoy a full line up of live shows both at the outdoor tent and from the indoor theater. The summer line up includes Tim Reynolds of Dave Matthews Band, Comedian Ric Vos, JJ Grey & Mofro, Grammy Award nominee KT Tunstall, and more. 9. Soak in the sun at Martin Park Beach

Martin Park is home to Great Pond, a natural spring-fed pond perfect for a refreshing dip during hot summer days and lots of family fun opportunities. 10. Enjoy local craft beer and food trucks at Nod Hill Brewery

Nod Hill Brewery is one of Ridgefield’s newest establishments, offering a variety of American ales along with traditional Belgian, German, and English style beers.
