Extracurricular Programs for All Ages in Ridgefield

Ridgefield is blessed with a variety of arts and cultural organizations for all ages and interests, making it a great town for participating in extracurricular activities and programs. Extracurricular activities are a great way to provide children and teens with opportunities to explore new interests and learn new skills. From art workshops, to theater and dance classes, to nature and history programs – there are so many rewarding after-school programs and weekend activities for kids of all ages.

Take a look at these enriching extracurricular programs offered in Ridgefield this fall:

ACT of CT’s Youth Choir

Ages: Grades 2 – 8
ACT of CT’s Youth Choir is an opportunity for elementary and middle school singers to learn proper and healthy singing technique, vocal music reading, and the art of singing in harmony, all while exploring music from a variety of traditions. Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, September 13th, 2022. Learn more

Theater Barn Kids

Ridgefield Theater Barn

Ages: Grades 3-12
Ridgefield Theater Barn is offering new workshops and packages for children and young adults this fall season. Register online for teen and youth plays, musicals, and workshops with classes that put on outstanding theater performances. View this fall’s offerings

Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance

Ages: Toddler through Teen
The Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance is dedicated to teaching in a positive, caring way while maintaining a disciplined atmosphere that challenges each student to excel. Classes are available for ages beginning two years old. Fall classes begin on September 6, 2022. View fall class offerings

Landmark Preschool’s Fun for Ones

Ages: 12 through 24 months
In the Fun for Ones program, Landmark Preschool’s youngest “students” learn together with a parent or caregiver about themselves and the world around them through exploration, play, music and the arts. Ridgefield Academy’s After School Enrichment Clubs

Ages: K- Grade 3
Ridgefield Academy’s enrichment clubs are open to the public and include a variety of offerings, including Kempo Karate, Multimedia Art Workshop, LEGO Animal Adventures, Science Wizards Club, Tiny Feet Soccer, and more. Programs begin the week of September 12th, 2022. View fall offerings

Landmark Preschool’s After School Enrichment Clubs

Ages: 3-4 years old
In addition to Ridgefield Academy’s programs, Landmark Preschool also offers a variety of recreational after-school clubs available for three and four year old students. 2 Blue Hens Art Room, Tales & Treats, Fun STEM, and Creative Movement Exploration are just a few of the options that are available! Ridgefield Parks & Recreation

Ages: All
The mission of Ridgefield Parks & Recreation is to provide a wide range of high quality wellness and recreation programs, community service and park facilities for the benefit and enjoyment of all. Their youth programs for this fall include Food Explorers, Invention Club, Recreation Station, Slimy, Scaly, Ooey, Gooey Science, and more. View fall offerings

Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield

Ages: K-12
The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield is a youth activity center designed to offer programs for school-aged children after school and during vacations. Programs include: Homework Program, Technology Center Challenges, Gym Games, Open Art Studio, and more.

Ages: All
RPAC Art Center & Academy offers numerous introductory classes and workshops in a wide variety of topics and mediums, including drawing, painting, photography, and digital art. The Fall 2022 sessions are now open and individual classes are also available. View fall sessions

Woodcock Nature Center

Ages: Pre-K through 8th
Woodcock offers a variety of programs throughout the year for children as young as 16 months old through 8th grade. Children explore the natural world through nature walks, animal encounters, after-school enrichment activities including hiking, animal encounters, art and nature activities, and more. Ridgefield Library

Ages: All
The Ridgefield Library is an intellectual and cultural gathering place, adapting to the changing needs of our community in an evolving world. With endless resources, the library is a great place to explore a variety of topics of interest for all ages! Learn more

Learning at The Aldrich engages visitors of all ages with artworks and ideas from these artists, fostering a public space for critical discourse. The Aldrich offers a variety of virtual engagement opportunities giving children and families new ways to learn together through contemporary art. Learn more

Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center

Ages: K-12
Keeler Tavern Museum’s interactive exhibits, tours, and programs create opportunities for kids of all ages to make personal connections to history through storytelling, interactive lessons, and primary source investigation. This fall, kids can learn about historic trades and crafts in 18th and 19th century Ridgefield at #HandsOnHistory: “It Takes a Village” exhibit. Learn more

Children’s after-school art classes will be starting in November at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists, as their classes are being revamped and updated. New offerings will appear in their Fall II session starting in November. Learn more
