This 2.5-hour workshop is designed to help parents develop and hone communication skills through the guidance and support of a licensed therapist. After discussions about parenting strategies, you will be guided through activities that dive into personal space, communication and leadership based on techniques from the EAGALA model and natural lifemanship programs.

Have you always wanted to learn to play mahjong/mah-jongg?
This April, for four Sunday afternoons 1:00-4:30 PM, Antonio Villanueva will conduct free lessons at the Ridgefield Library on how to play this table game that involves skill, strategy and luck. Previous knowledge of American Mahjong is a plus but not necessary. The dates are Sunday, April 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th. Please register to attend, as space is limited. Most people will just need one session to have a good understanding of the game.
Mah-Jongg is a tile-based game that was developed in the 19th century in China and has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century. The game and its regional variants are widely played throughout East and Southeast Asia and have also become popular in Western countries. Asia Pacific Rummy Mahjong is a variation that is played and influenced by Illonggos in the Philippines, the Taiwanese in Berkeley, and the British in Singapore among others in the Pacific Rim region.

This collaboration aims to support further the needs of LGBTQ Youth in the Greater Danbury area, including but not limited to upper Fairfield County, southern Litchfield County, and Westchester and covering the towns of Danbury, Bethel, Redding, Ridgefield, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Weston, Wilton, Katonah, Lewisboro, North Salem, and South Salem.

Your favorite way to spend Mother’s Day returns to Ridgefield, Connecticut on Sunday, May 12, 2024, with a 5k Women’s Race and Kids 1 Mile.
The 5k race starts at The Ridgefield Playhouse and ends at Ballard Park, and is welcoming to both beginner and experienced runners alike. At Ballard Park we’ll have a family celebration area with runner refreshments and activities for the kids. There will be plenty of places for your family and friends to spectate, so tell them to get their poster-making skills ready!
PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.
