We’ve been teased with some faux-spring weather over the past few weeks, but winter is not over yet. While the chill remains in the air (and snow is still on the ground!), Ridgefield has some great activities to celebrate the season before it comes to a close. Get snuggled up, or bundled up, for our top ten cozy local winter activities!

2. Sit back and enjoy the show

Escape to a different world through the experience of live theater right here in Ridgefield! Catch a show at any one of our town’s distinguished theaters. 3. Take a spin on the ice

If the season of snow calls for anything, it’s grabbing those skates and taking a few laps around the rink! Make it a family affair, a fun date, or get your friends together and hit the ice at Winter Garden Ice Arena. Programs are also offered if you’re looking to learn how to skate. 4. Take a class

5. Catch a flick

There’s arguably no better way to beat winter’s chill than getting cozied up with some popcorn and watching a feature film. Ridgefield’s very own Prospector Theater brings you the latest in entertainment and the best gourmet popcorn to be found! Check out a list of showtimes below to see what your next night out will be. 6. Get lost in the stacks

Take an adventure this winter with a new book. Whether you’re browsing for your next great read or looking for book clubs and lectures, Ridgefield has all you need! Head to the Ridgefield Library, where you can check out their event schedule to find an upcoming lecture or club meeting. 10. Step back in time

Ridgefield is a town with a rich and vibrant history, and there’s no better way to celebrate a New England winter than embracing the warmth of your community. Head on down to the Keeler Tavern Museum where Ridgefield’s past comes to life. The museum is hosting An Afternoon Tea with the Cast of Little Women (from Ridgefield High School) on March 2nd. And don’t miss  “A Journey” Musical One-Woman Show on March 17th.

The Ridgefield Historical Society also offers programs to help the public learn about Ridgefield’s past events and influential individuals. The next upcoming event is a History Club event, which explores the street names throughout town. Come learn some interesting facts and escape the cold! Or bundle up and check out their Museum in the Streets throughout town.
