Spring is finally here! Ridgefield is set to have a very busy spring season with so many amazing cultural and family-friendly events around town. Here’s our roundup of exciting April events. We’ll see you in Ridgefield!

Austen’s Pride
Act of CT
Now until April 14th
Austen’s Pride springs to life as Jane Austen transforms her rough draft for Pride and Prejudice into a beloved classic. With a glorious and sweeping score, this new musical is being performed for the first time in CT! 

Freed Formats: The Book Reconsidered
Ridgefield Guild of Artists
Now until April 28th
Freed Formats is a traveling exhibition of 135 works of book art from 53 artists representing 17 U.S. states and 2 countries. It opens simultaneously at the RGA as well as at The Mark Twain Library in West Redding, CT. 

The Poet You Are: A Celebration of National Poetry Month
The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum
April 4th
Using works from the current How Art Changed the Prison as inspiration, poet Barb Jennes will lead an intergenerational workshop in which practicing poets and non-writers alike will draft a series of poems. 

Guest Bartender Night Benefitting Ann’s Place

Join First Selectman Rudy Marconi and his wife Peggy for a few drinks at Gallo Ristorante! Rudy and Peggy will be serving up cocktails to benefit Ann’s Place

West Point Army Band Concert

The American Legion Post 78 of Ridgefield will be sponsoring The West Point Army Band at the Ridgefield High School. The performance is free and open to all. 

Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra Concert & Fundraiser- “A Soldier’s Tale”
The Ridgefield Playhouse
April 12th
Musicians for the RSO will perform Stravinsky’s dramatic piece “A Soldier’s Tale.” The evening will also include a silent and live auction as well as champagne and dessert following the performance.

RVNA 19th Annual Spring Breakfast

The RVNA will hold its annual spring breakfast fundraiser! Each year, this event brings together over 400 local business leaders, medical professionals, and community groups to celebrate spring and support those who the RVNA serves. 

ACT 2019 Gala

Join ACT of CT for their annual gala honoring the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Foundation. In addition to a silent auction, the evening will feature live performances by special guests and an after party with a DJ!

1777 Danbury Raid and the Battle of Ridgefield

Ridgefield Chorale’s 21st Century Broadway

The Ridgefield Chorale’s spring concert, “21st Century Broadway,” features the music of Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Wicked, and other 21st century musicals. 

2019 Benefit Bash

The Aldrich Benefit Bash will feature an evening of signature cocktails, dinner catered by Abigail Kirsch, and an exciting auction full of exclusive experiences, artwork, and more! The evening will also honor artist Harmony Hammond.

The Aldrich will be bustling with special activities and wonderful exhibits throughout April. In addition to kid-friendly workshops and artist discussions, the museum will have serval exciting exhibits on display.

The Playhouse has a great line-up of entertainment for the month of April. Renowned musicians, singers, dancers, and comedians will all be taking center stage. Some highlights include Jay Mohr, REO Speedwagon, Michael Feinstein, and Frank Caliendo.
