About
Consisting of approximately 395 acres, the Ridgefield Center Historic District is the main activity hub of the town. It is composed of three distinct areas, Main Street South, Main Street North, and West Lane, as well as Ballard Park and the town hall. The architecture of this district reflects three centuries of the town’s history and consists of a range of American architectural styles from Colonial to the Art Modern. In fact, Colonial homes, Greek Revival structures, and Queen Anne styled public buildings harmoniously exist side by side in this district to create some picturesque streetscapes.
