Every August, Weir Farm hosts their annual Art in the Park Festival which celebrates the birthday of the National Park Service and the creativity inspired by Weir Farm. Visitors can take part in free demonstrations, activity stations, music, and get to taste a few summer treats. Also, in late August to September, The Ridgefield Guild of Arts puts on their annual Art Walk and showcases pieces from local talents all long downtown Main Street.

Summer is all about spending time outdoors and Ridgefield has several ways that will help you enjoy the sunshine. Grab a bike or put on a pair of boots and head to one our town’s fantastic hiking trails. Take in the wooded hillsides, green forests, and majestic waterways that make up our beautiful scenery. Or, enjoy a leisurely day riding the waves at our pristine Martin Park Beach and picnic in the shade at Ballard Park.

In addition to 4th of July fireworks, Ridgefield likes to celebrate summer with their annual Summerfest. Held on Main Street, Summerfest features sidewalk sales, games, live music, and a variety of delicious summer foods from our fantastic eateries. Keeler Tavern also likes to get into the summer groove with their annual Watermelon Festival on July 4th. This fun family event has free museum tours, colonial lawn games, a dunk tank, live music, an art show, and of course lots of tasty watermelon!

During the summers, Ridgefield likes to spend time in their pristine parks. Every Tuesday and Thursday, highly acclaimed musicians and singers perform in Ballard Park. Admission to these concerts are free, so all you need to bring is a picnic blanket, refreshments, and maybe a few summer treats!
