Music is in the Air this Fall

Ridgefield is a town rich with a rich cultural life and the fall season brings a new wave of the arts. The lineup of musical events this fall is quite impressive. Here are a few not-to-miss events to add to your fall calendar!

Jazz, Funk, and Blues Weekend

In September, the streets of Ridgefield will be filled with the sounds of jazz, funk, and blues. This four day event will feature a tremendous line-up of talented artists that will perform all over town, from Ballard Park and The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum to The Ridgefield Playhouse and local restaurants. Be sure to get your tickets in advance as this weekend promises to be one of great music and good times!

Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra

The fantastic musicians of the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra will be showcasing their talents in October. Their concert “Ignition” will feature selections from Symphony No. 1 by Ludwig van Beethoven and Concerto for Orchestra by Bela Bartok.

CHIRP Concerts

The lively concerts in Ballard Park will continue into September. As part of the Jazz, Funk, & Blues Weekend, the jazz rock fusion band, Project Grand Slam, will be performing on September 13th.

Music at The Playhouse

The fall season will bring another round of superb and highly acclaimed performers to The Ridgefield Playhouse. In September, Broadway favorite Cynthia Erivo and the 80s punk band Blondie will appear on the Playhouse’s stage. In October, Tony Danza and The Marshall Tucker Band will perform while Gladys Knight, Bebe Neuwirth, and Art Garfunkel will headline November. Don’t forget to also check out SPHERE’s production of the hit musical “Mamma Mia” on October 14th.

At the Restaurants

Throughout the fall, Ridgefield’s restaurants will have live music to entertain guests while they dine. The Village Tavern and The Hideaway always invites a live rock, acoustic, or jazz band to perform on the weekends. Sarah’s Wine Bar and Nod Hill Brewery features live performances during the week as well as on the weekend.
