The Ridgefield Jazz, Funk & Blues Weekend is a four-day fall event that brings the beat of jazz to venues around town. Throughout the weekend, a tremendously talented lineup of jazz, funk, and blues artists will perform all over town, from an outdoor show at Ballard Park to regional powerhouse Ridgefield Playhouse.
The last CHIRP concert of the season will take place on September 5th. Kicking off this year’s Jazz, Funk and Blues festival is an 18 piece swing band. They will play the music of the big jazz bands of the 30s and 40s, Artie Shaw, Duke Ellington and so much more.
The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra’s commitment to world-class performances of marvelous music makes us proud to be Ridgefielders. Under the direction of Maestro Yuga Cohler, the orchestra, along with renowned soloists and special guest artists, presents extraordinary evenings of music that engage, entertain and inspire all music lovers. RSO’s anticipated Opening Reception, entitled Medley, will take place on October 5th.
The fall season will bring another round of superb and highly acclaimed performers to The Ridgefield Playhouse. In September, some acts taking the stage are Naturally 7, Daughtry and Rick Springfield, in October, Andy Grammer, Main Weinberg, and America – the 50th Anniversary Tour, and in November, Boz Scaggs, Cowboy Junkies, and Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox.

Ridgefield is used to seeing Daniela Sikora conduct the Ridgefield Chorale, but on September 5th (from 6:00 to 9:00), she is trading her conducting gestures for tending the bar at Gallo Ristorante, benefiting the Chorale!
On September 11th at 6:30 pm, the Ridgefield Chorale will perform at the Town of Ridgefield’s annual 9/11 Memorial Service, held at the Recreation Center. The Chorale joins First Selectman Rudy Marconi, Ridgefield clergy, police and fire honor guards, and guest speakers in honoring the memory of those who lost their lives on 9/11. Later this fall, the Ridgefield Choral’s fall concert “Light: A Love Story” will take place on Saturday, November 16th. More information will be shared soon.
