Holiday Festivities in Ridgefield

Enjoy a merry and bright holiday season in Ridgefield! With elegantly decorated shop windows, twinkling lights, and snow-covered walkways, our town becomes a true winter wonderland during December. And, there are so many special events and activities happening in town that are sure to help you celebrate the season. Ridgefield Holiday Stroll
Downtown Ridgefield Association
November 30th & December 1st
Kick off the holiday season with the Ridgefield Holiday Stroll! This beloved town-wide event will have horse-drawn carriage rides, photos with Santa, magic shows, caroling, delicious holiday treats, and much more! Be sure to stop by the live ice scuplture (sponsored by InRidgefield!) on Friday night to see the fabulous sculpture being craved and to take pictures with The Grinch.

Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra
December 1st
Join the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra for an evening of beautiful live music. The talented violinist Tessa Lark, who will be performing a piece written for her by composer Michael Thurber, will accompany the RSO. The concert’s program also will include music from the Romeo & Juliet Fantasy Overture by Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Symphony No. 2 by Johannes Brahms.

See the Scott House aglow with holiday lights and decorations at the Ridgefield Historical Society’s Holiday Event. Sit for a hand cut silhouette, peruse their bookshop for some unique gifts, and enjoy some festive holiday music.

A festive tradition in Ridgefield, the Fountain Music Concert Series presents its annual concert of holiday carols and live music. The Festival Choir will sing some holiday favorites and they will be joined by several talented musicians.

Join the Lounsbury House Women’s Committee for a teddy bear tea party! Mrs. Clause will read a wonderful holiday story as children enjoy a variety of juices, cookies, and delectable treats.

Come to the Lounsbury House for an evening of wine, food, fabulous shopping, and fun activities. Local merchants will be on hand to sell their treasures and gift items for the holidays. This is a night out not to be missed!

The Polar Express

December 13th & December 14th
All aboard the Polar Express for a trip to Santa’s Workshop! Once at the North Pole, families will enjoy games, holiday arts and crafts, and tasty holiday goodies. Then, everyone will gather in front of the fireplace to hear the story of The Polar Express.

The Nutcracker
The Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance
December 14th- December 16th
Tchaikovsky’s soaring score, graceful ballerinas, wooden soldiers that come to life, and a beautiful Christmas tree will make the holidays bright for young and old!  This year’s fresh production will be presented by The Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance with student and professional cast members who will delight with new choreography and costumes.
