Nature Center Open House Days

All are welcome to swing by for a visit on limited Fridays this spring. Check out our new indoor animal enclosures and say hello to your favorite Woodcock ambassador animal. Plan a longer visit by enjoying our grounds, trails and playground which are open from dawn to dusk daily free of charge.

Bring the entire family to peruse, stroll and celebrate spring along Ridgefield’s beautiful Main Street. This beloved community event will include a stellar lineup of family fun events including stilt walkers, jugglers, balloon artists, face painting, chalk artists and sidewalk chalk art contest, live music, a scavenger hunt, and more!

First Sunday at Keeler Tavern Museum

Keeler Tavern Museum and History Center
Visit KTM&HC on the first Sunday of every month for fun family-friendly experiences and activities that will engage museum-goers of all ages with free site admission. In honor of National Poppy Day on May 27th – a day to honor those who served and died for our county in all wars – participants will sew silk poppies to make a pin.

Michael Moschen Mysterious Forces

MacArthur Genius and visionary performing artist Michael Moschen is considered by some to be the greatest juggler of the 20th century. Moschen combines juggling, physics, movement, and dance to create a world of balls, rings, hoops, and spheres that fly, float and spin while defying gravity – a truly spectacular show for the entire family!

Crazy Rich Asians – Free Diversity Film Screening
Wednesday, May 10th

The bonus content for Crazy Rich Asians will consist of an interview led by entertainment reporter Cheryl Washington and can be seen following the screening in the theater or on our YouTube channel. See the cultural phenomenon back on the big screen in honor of AAPI Heritage Month.

Annual May Plant Sale

Every year, the Caudatowa Garden Club and the Ridgefield Garden Club team up to hold their annual plant sale at Ballard Greenhouse. The offerings include annuals, perennials, beautiful flowering hanging baskets, fresh herbs, vegetables, and beautiful baskets and gifts designed by garden club members.

This special in-gallery and online show will be juried by Melanie Prapopoulos of CAMP Gallery, Westport, CT. Looking at curation as an opportunity to learn and experience art as a means for understanding society, Melanie Prapopoulos has been curating for over eight years. Utilizing her tools learned in academia, Prapopoulos brings that knowledge in her search for universals and suggestions with the goal of making art accessible to all.

More than 54 million people in America sing in a chorus. Our concert, This Is Who I Am,” celebrates the singers of the Ridgefield Chorale. Hear the songs that reflect our diversity and our commonalities, from contemporary choral masterpieces to musicals to pop and jazz standards. Songs about love, friendship, personal struggle, triumphs and of joys and shared sorrows.

The Gala is KTM&HC’s biggest fundraising event of the year. This spring, our Gala will honor longtime museum supporters Nick and Anita Donofrio. Attendees will enjoy cocktails and dinner in the museum’s historic walled garden and Garden House, with catering by Michael Bick. The evening will feature live and silent auctions, a paddle raise, and a raffle.

“What Was, Still Is” Exhibit

View the unique works of Ellen Schiffman in her latest abstract series titled “What Was, Still Is.” Schiffman states “My inspiration is drawn from across cultures and time, with imagery from the man-made world as well as nature.” The exhibit will be on display through Saturday, May 13th.

Run Like a Mother 5k & Kids’ One Mile

Ballard Park
Your favorite way to spend Mother’s Day returns to Ridgefield! The run will begin at The Ridgefield Playhouse and end at Ballard Park. There will be a family celebration area with runner refreshments and activities for the kids. There will be plenty of places for your family and friends to spectate, so tell them to get their poster-making skills ready!

The Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce is inviting all to welcome spring with a ‘Support Local’ Golf Tournament, including a casual lunch at noon followed by 1pm shotgun start. There will be a variety of competitions in addition to 18 holes of tournament play –men’s and women’s longest drive, closest to pin, hole-in-one, and lowest & highest scores.

RIFF brings innovative films and filmmakers to the culturally vibrant community of Ridgefield, Connecticut for an annual festival that includes screenings, panel discussions, special events, and parties. The Secret Garden
