Festive Home at Ridgefield Guild of Artists

Ridgefield has so many festive events happening this month. From art exhibits to concerts and family-friendly holiday events, you don’t want to miss a minute of the fun!

Art & Text Exhibition
Ridgefield Library
November 1st – December 19th
This show taking place in the Ridgefield Library Gallery is part of themed exhibitions of the same name taking place across a consortium of 13 Fairfield County, CT libraries from September – December 2019. This exhibition will feature the textual medium in art as seen in rich combinations of text letters words, colors, forms, and images. 

Tree Festival Champagne Preview Party
Lounsbury House
November 14th
The Preview Party offers guests a first look at the many beautifully designed trees donated by generous supporters and are available for purchase, as well as an opportunity to shop the carefully curated selection of unique gifts and holiday décor.

Battle of the Books
Ridgefield Library
November 14th
Ridgefield Library and Books on the Common present Battle of the Books with James Mustich, author of 1,000 Books to Read Before You Die. Cheer on 5 local heroes as they champion the books they love. The books will all be available for sale at the event. Free admission, refreshments, and door prizes.

Lounsbury House Tree Festival

November 15th-17th
See Lounsbury House transformed into a winter wonderland! All proceeds benefit the Lounsbury House community programs and historic preservation efforts.

Jazzy A Capella

November 15th
As part of a weekend celebration of popular music standards from the American songbook, Congregation Shir Shalom of Westchester and Fairfield Counties will welcome a world-class group of talented singers from Yale University.

Join the Ridgefield Chorale on its journey from light to darkness and light again. The evening will feature the music of some of the world’s finest contemporary composers including Ola Gjeilo, John Rutter, Stephen Schwartz, and Rene Clausen.

Celebrating Two Stephens: Sondheim – Schwartz

November 17th
Soprano Claire Simard, accompanied by pianist Brian Besterman, will perform a program of musical theater songs by pre-eminent Broadway composers Stephen Sondheim and Stephen Schwartz.

Every Quilt Tells a Story

Tamar Drucker, fiber artist extraordinaire, will bring
her Jewish/Israeli heritage-inspired creations and describe her artistic process.

Champagne Preview Party

November 22nd – 24th
Steinway & Sons is coming to Ridgefield and taking over historic Lounsbury House with an opportunity for you to select from a variety of new, used, and restored Steinway and Steinway-designed Boston and Essex grand and upright pianos. Steinway will donate a portion of each sale to The Ridgefield Symphony, The Ridgefield Playhouse, and Lounsbury House.

15th Annual Festive Home
Ridgefield Guild of Artists
November 23rd – December 22nd
This holiday marketplace and fundraiser brings many, many shoppers to our charming antique building every year. They will find the galleries brimming with unique hand-made and hand-selected gift items such as jewelry, apparel, and original artwork, to decorative and useful objects for holiday home decorating, and much, much more.

Senior Luncheon

Ridgefield’s older adult community is invited to attend a wonderful Senior Luncheon in our beautiful, historic setting. You’ll be treated to a delicious three-course catered lunch from a local restaurant, and special performances. 

Thanksgiving Weekend: Make History Your Destination
Keeler Tavern Museum and History Center
November 29th – December 1st
Gather your family and friends for a Thanksgiving weekend that celebrates 300 years of Ridgefield and the nation’s history. Enjoy a docent-led tour of the historic Keeler Tavern Museum, stop by the Museum Shop (stocked with new merchandise for the holidays!), and take a self-guided tour of our spectacular 4-acre campus.

Ridgefield Tree Lighting Ceremony 2019
Downtown Ridgefield
November 29th
17,000 plus lights, songs, and Santa will kick off the 2019 holiday season in Ridgefield once again promoting the sparkle and glitter of the historic Main Street and quintessential New England town. Enjoy the annual tree lighting when everyone comes together downtown for a festive holiday song. Watch Santa arrive on a fire truck and see the tree shine!
