Event Details

Join our bird-obsessed educator Tommy McCarthy on a guided hike to learn about and look for warblers! Often referred to as “the butterflies of the bird world”, these little songbirds migrate up from Central and South America to breed here in the Northeastern United States. Over thirty different warbler species can be seen in Connecticut, and on this walk we are going to look for, listen to, and learn about some of them – from the most common to the more elusive and sought after. Participants will learn some basic tips to spot and identify warblers, identify some species by song, and learn about their habitat, behavior and migration patterns!

Binoculars are recommended as well as supportive shoes. This program is geared towards adults, though kids are still welcome.

This program is free but pre-registration is required as spots are limited.
