Where the Pavement Ends Trail Race HYBRID-VIRTUAL Trail Race is here for 2020!

For safety of runners, volunteers, and staff, this year’s race will be held in a hybrid-virtual format. It will still be competitive and fun!

What is a Hybrid-Virtual Race?

This format allows you to run the exact race course, but within a large window of time. You’ll then upload your results with a file or screenshot for verification (see more below). For this race, you can run the course between the hours of 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM from Friday, September 11 through Sunday, September 13th. (The hours are as per Ridgefield Conservation Commision Open Space regulations.)

We will still be competitive! The course will be marked, along with the start and finish lines. Signage will be checked once per day but you are ultimately responsible for knowing and following the course. After you’re done you will upload proof of your time and course running to be verified. Top 3 overall males and females will receive gift certifcates to The Cake Box in Ridgefield.

All runners will receive a “finisher cupcake” from the Cakebox this year in lieu of shirts. Every finsher that uploads a verifiable time will be eligible for a raffle prize from Ridgefield Running Company!

Where the Pavement Ends supports the Ridgefield Conservation Commission.
A portion of every registration will be donated to the RCC, and runners will also have an opportunity to make individual donations during the registration process. The RCC is a volunteer-run board that is charged with looking after the town’s open spaces, including trail maintenance after large storms such a Tropical Storm Isaias. The RCC also helps with acquisition of new parcels of land to add to the inventory of Ridgefield’s wide and varied public open spaces.
