An evening of chamber music with the exceptional professional musicians of the Charles Ives Concert Series in collaboration with RSO Music Director Yuga Cohler. Unsuk Chin transforms the idea of an etude, Carlos Simon translates a quote from Oprah, 2019 composer-in-residence Robert Paterson uses real-world sounds through electronics, Gabriella Smith reconstructs Bach, David T. Little renews the energy of Ives, Takashi Yoshimatsu invokes birds, and Ives Series artistic director Paul Frucht deals with memory and self-reference. Each work on our August 10th concert program features works that transform sound or music in unique and fascinating ways!
$20 online, $25 at the door, $10 for seniors, students, and children. General Admission. Free for all CMI participants.
