GRAMMY & ACM Award duo performers, The War and Treaty, will bring their soul-filled, eclectic harmonies of blues, classic R&B, and deep rooted rock to the Playhouse. The husband-and-wife team of Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Blount-Trotter create an exhilarating exchange of energy with their audience each time they hit the stage. Since joining sweet-sounding forces in 2014, The War and Treaty have released three albums including 2016 Love Affair (as Trotter and Blount), 2018 Healing Tide, and their latest LP release 2020 Hearts Town. The couple’s relationship has been at the very soul of their work… and it shows. Their success includes a collaboration with Emmylou Harris, a tour with Al Green, shared performances with Brandi Carlile, and Elvis Costello, a gig at their first Jazz Fest in 2018 (with a return invite for an opening night headline in 2019), a performance at the 2020 GRAMMYs, the 2020 ACM Awards ceremony, The Rose Parade, “The Today Show,” and “Austin City Limits.” Blount-Trotter is no stranger to success. In 1993, she sang alongside Lauryn Hill in Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit and signed with Puff Daddy’s Bad Boy Records.
