In their monumental work Your Turn, artists Alex Schweder and Ward Shelley reimagine comforts and basic necessities as a laborious negotiation. Artist and Yale University design critic Pamela Hovland and The Aldrich’s Exhibition Director Richard Klein join Schweder and Shelley for an exploration of the dramatic environments they have constructed to challenge the limits of cooperation in design and living. In conjunction with the exhibition Made in Connecticut.
We are thrilled to be a part of the Connecticut Art Trail’s Made in Connecticut exhibition at The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the CT Art Trail, Made in Connecticut brings together works of art and objects from the collections of each of the Art Trail member institutions. While The Aldrich does not have a collection, we’ve contributed Alex Schweder & Ward Shelley’s Your Turn Painting (2017) – a painting of Schweder and Shelley’s 2017 exhibition at The Aldrich, Your Turn.
