Step back in time into the 18th-century Peter Parley Schoolhouse! Get a guided tour and find out more about Peter Parley, its most famous “scholar”. Play with antique toys, write with quill pens, and wear a three-corner hat. Find out which of Ridgefield’s twelve little red schoolhouses was closest to your house. Read the strict teacher’s rules and imagine having to stoke the pot-bellied stove yourself!
The schoolhouse is open from 1 pm to 4 pm the last Sunday of each month, from May through October. Click here for directions. Each month will feature a new special program, and an ice cream truck will be available on site.
