Poetry Reading with Rosebud Ben-Oni

As part of its All of the Sky: Five Poets, Five Saturdays series, The Aldrich will host five noted contemporary poets–Claudia Rankine, Mahogany L. Browne, Rosebud Ben-Oni, Nathalie Handal, and Emily Skillings–for Saturday readings held in person in the Museum beginning on July 9, 2022.

The five poets selected for this series each bring their varied perspectives from a diverse range of backgrounds and will read selections that reflect the role feminist writers, artists, and leaders have played in their practices. A talkback and book signing will follow each reading.

Born to a Mexican mother and Jewish father, Rosebud Ben-Oni is the winner of 2019 Alice James Award for If This Is the Age We End Discovery. She is also the author of turn around, BRXGHT XYXS and the chapbook 20 Atomic Sonnets. In 2017, her poem “Poet Wrestling with Angels in the Dark” was commissioned by the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City. She teaches poetry at Catapult, The Speakeasy Project, and the UCLA Writers’ Program.
