New Art Exhibit & Events at the Ridgefield Library: Phil Demise Smith

Please join us this Saturday, September 10th to celebrate multitalented artist Phil Demise Smith’s new exhibit at the Ridgefield Library, “Follow the Brush”.

Smith is a painter, poet, writer, teacher, and musician. He describes his approach to creating as being informed by a Japanese literary genre called “Zuihitzu,” which has poetically been defined as “follow the brush”.  His colorful, jewel-toned paintings will be on display in the Library Gallery through Sept. 29th.

Smith will host an Artist’s Talk at 2:00 pm on September 10th, where he will discuss his artwork and perform some of his poetry and songs. Please register to attend.

Immediately following will be an artist’s reception starting at 3:00pm. Refreshments will be served.

Both events are free and open to the public.
