Keeler Tavern has been a wedding venue at least since 1941, when Julia Post (Cass and Julia Gilbert’s granddaughter) and Walter Bastedo held their reception at the Garden House. In the years since, the Garden House has played host to thousands of weddings; Tying the Knot celebrates this legacy with a look at Ridgefield weddings of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
A complement to the 2021 #HandsOnHistory exhibit, featuring silk as a high-value textile used for special event clothing, such as wedding dresses.
