Jazz, Funk, & Blues Weekend: Ridgefield High School Jazz Band

Lounsbury House is excited to participate in Ridgefield’s Jazz, Funk & Blues Weekend 2018! In this true community partnership, we are pleased to feature the Ridgefield High School Jazz Band, led by Orchestra Director Michael McNamara.  Join us outdoors for lawn games, food trucks, friendly company, and a delightful afternoon concert!

The Ridgefield High School Jazz Band is a selection of the most talented young musicians in Ridgefield. The Jazz Band is comprised of RHS students who audition in the spring to be in the band the following year, and only the most proficient students make the cut. The Jazz Band competes in regional music competitions, and has found success in its endeavors.  Their music will echo beautifully in the grand historic venue that is Lounsbury House.

The Ridgefield Jazz, Funk & Blues Weekend is a four-day fall event in the culturally rich and scenic town of Ridgefield, Connecticut. Throughout the weekend, a tremendously talented lineup of jazz, funk, and blues artists will perform all over town, from an outdoor show at Ballard Park to regional powerhouse Ridgefield Playhouse. The Ridgefield Jazz, Funk & Blues Weekend is Ridgefield’s premiere event this September. The program is a collaboration between the participating venues and the Ridgefield Economic & Community Development Commission.
