Opening Act:  Jonathan Coulton

Aimee Mann’s storied career has brought her GRAMMYs, an Oscar nomination, and recognition from NPR as one of the ten greatest living songwriters. She returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse on April 20th in support of her latest album “Queens of the Summer Hotel,” which critics have lauded as “nearly flawless” (No Depression – Journal of Roots Music) and bearing her signature blend of “sardonic humor, wry lyrics, moody melodies and powerful emotional resonance” (Associated Press). Mann found success even in her early days as a founding member of the Boston new wave band ’Til Tuesday, with the smash hit “Voices Carry” peaking at #8 on the Billboard charts and the memorable music video getting widespread airplay on MTV. As a solo artist, she not only penned hits like “Save Me,” her music inspired entire feature films, as Paul Thomas Anderson used her songs as the inspiration for his epic 1999 drama “Magnolia” starring Tom Cruise. After over a dozen albums and countless concerts, each performance is an evening to savor in the presence of a genuine American musical treasure.
