Part of a series developed by Ridgefield Poet Laureate Barb Jennes.
Throughout the month of September, KTM&HC will host a series of themed, Tuesday evening poetry readings in the museum’s historic, walled gardens.
A September 21 reading will feature LGBTQ+ poets Philip F. Clark–poetry editor of Art and Understanding Magazine and author of The Carnival of Affection–and West Hartford Poet Laureate Benjamin Grossberg (My Husband Would) in a program co-sponsored by Ridgefield CT Pride. Winners of a Pride Poetry contest in two categories (teen and adult) will be recognized and invited to read. (Email [email protected] for information on entering the contest; deadline September 10). The Trevor Project, a 24-hour suicide prevention service for LGBTQ youth, will offer information on their services.
Free and open to the public! Grounds open at 6 p.m. Bring your own chair or blanket. Mask-wearing is recommended; six-foot spacing is required. The poets’ books will be available for sale. Parking is available on-site and across Main Street at Jesse Lee Church.
Rain venue: Ridgefield Guild of Artists at 34 Halpin Lane, Ridgefield.
