Part of a series developed by Ridgefield Poet Laureate Barb Jennes.
Throughout the month of September, KTM&HC will host a series of themed, Tuesday evening poetry readings in the museum’s historic, walled gardens.
To conclude the series for the summer, Connecticut State Poet Laureate Margaret Gibson will read from The Glass Globe, her new collection that blends poems of personal bereavement over the loss of her husband to Alzheimer’s with elegies for the earth during the ongoing global crisis wrought by climate change. Furthering the topic of a planet in crisis, Pamela Hart (Mothers Over Nangarhar) will read poems exploring species loss.
Free and open to the public! Grounds open at 6 p.m. Bring your own chair or blanket. Mask-wearing is recommended; six-foot spacing is required. The poets’ books will be available for sale. Parking is available on-site and across Main Street at Jesse Lee Church.
Rain venue: Ridgefield Guild of Artists at 34 Halpin Lane, Ridgefield.
