KTM&HC hosts the second installment of the 2022 Ridgefield Poet Laureate summer poetry series “A Garden of Verse,” featuring readings by Meredith Bergmann and Kyle Potvin. Organized by Ridgefield Poet Laureate Barb Jennes. 

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and picnic dinner! Doors open 30 minutes prior to start of reading. On-site parking available. Rain location: KTM&HC Garden House. 

Bergmann is a sculptor with monuments in New York and Boston. In 2020, she won second prize from the Connecticut Poetry Club, and her poems have appeared widely in literary journals as well as in many anthologies, including Alongside We Travel: Contemporary Poets on Autism and Powow River Poets Anthology II. She was poetry editor of American Arts Quarterly from 2006-2017. Her chapbook A Special Education was published in 2014 by EXOT Books. 

Potvin’s debut full-length poetry collection is Loosen. Her chapbook, Sound Travels on Water, won the Jean Pedrick Chapbook Award. Potvin was a two-time finalist for the Howard Nemerov Sonnet Award and is co-founder of the Prickly Pear Poetry Project. An advisor to Frost Farm Poetry in Derry, NH, Potvin served as assistant director of the New Hampshire Poetry Festival for five years. Her poems are widely published, including in The New York Times.
