June is Pride Month and we are excited to celebrate the LGBTQ community with a series of events at many of our local organizations and businesses! Leading this month’s efforts is Ridgefield CT Pride, a town-wide organization created in 2019 by the joint GSA clubs of the Ridgefield Public Schools. The month’s special events will give everyone a chance to learn more, show support for the LGBTQ community, and come together. Happy Pride!
Pride Table
June 2 – June 30th
Ridgefield Public Library
Visit the Pride Table by the Teen Center to explore resources and media recommendations. You will have a chance to create your own pronoun and pride pins! And the library’s resource guide is available year round at ridgefieldlibrary.org.
Shabbat Worship
June 4th @ 6:00pm
Join Congregation Shir Shalom for a Pride Shabbat and Graduation Shabbat in honor of young members of the LGBTQ community.
RidgefieldCTPride Youth Support Group
June 7th @ 7:00pm
Virtual Event
Pride Community Support Groups will be meeting via Zoom during the Covid-19 pandemic. The first group is intended to serve those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community themselves. The second group is for allies of the LGBTQ+ community including those who desire to learn how to be more informed allies and friends and families of members of our LGBTQ+ community. Ballard Park
Groups are welcome to join us in this peaceful, family-friendly, joyful event. The event will feature lawn games, a DJ, live music, yoga, a raffle, crafts and a parade around the park. We encourage you to bring flags, balloons, and other festive items. March starts in Ballard Park at 12:00pm!

Make The Birdcage part of your Pride Month celebration with this special anniversary event that includes exclusive insights from Turner Classic Movies. This hysterical comedy stars Armand (Robin Williams) and Albert (Nathan Lane) who have built the perfect life for themselves tending to their gaudy Miami nightclub.

Get a cone of this delicious vanilla ice cream complete with gummy skittles and rainbow chips! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to RidgfieldCTPride.
