With summer in full swing and many festive events coming up in July, we look forward to all the incredible happenings to enjoy right here in Ridgefield! Our town will be celebrating Independence Day, many of our wonderful organizations will be hosting live music and entertainment, and there’s plenty of cultural events that will entice and inspire.

Star-Spangled Banner Webinar
Thursday, July 1st @ 7:00pm
Ridgefield Historical Society and Ridgefield Library
Join Lecturer Ed Hynes, CFA to hear about how during the War of 1812, Francis Scott Key and two other Americans were detained on British war ships in Baltimore Harbor while they ferociously bombarded Ft. McHenry. This program is co-presented with Ridgefield Library.

Fourth of July Celebration
Sunday, July 4th @ 11:00am
Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center
Celebrate Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness this Fourth of July with tours, music, games, and primary source documents. The Keeler Tavern will be offering Museum and Walking Tours, ticket holders will also have exclusive access to the new exhibits in the Carriage Barn. Join in on colonial-era lawn games and live music on the patio!

Fourth of July Concert
Sunday, July 4th @ 4:00pm
Ridgefield is celebrating the Fourth of July in a big way this year! Not only have the fireworks been reinstated but the town, in partnership with The Ridgefield Playhouse and CHIRP, is presenting a free Fourth of July concert in the park on Independence day! Tony Award winner Debbie Gravitte will be joined by the amazing Big Band sounds of Russ Kassoff and his orchestra.

Ridgefield’s Family Fireworks 2021
Monday, July 5th @ 6:00pm
Fireworks are back in Ridgefield for 2021! Join us at Tiger Hollow Field at Ridgefield High School. Gates open at 6pm, fireworks start at dusk. Parking will be available at the high school, as well as at Barlow Mountain and Scotland Elementary Schools. Attendees should have their printed order confirmation or ticket on their dashboard and ready at the gate. Tickets are $20 per car, and available online here.

Summer Bedlam
Through Sunday, July 11th
Ridgefield Guild of Artists
Please join us for our 10th annual Bedlam show, where anything goes! For this show, you, the artist, hang your own artwork anywhere in the gallery at any height, sideways or even upside down. Hanging this way is meant to cause a creative BEDLAM…a fun and carefree way of showing your work, always enticing good conversation. View this exhibit at the gallery through July 11th.

Drive-Thru Lobster & Clambake
Thursday, July 15th @ 5:30pm
Lounsbury House
Our annual lobster & clambake fundraising event will look a little different this year but will be no less special! Participants may either ‘pick-up’ to bring home or picnic outside on our beautiful historic grounds. Enjoy a delectable meal while supporting Lounsbury House preservation efforts! Tickets on sale now.

CHIRP Concert: Christine Ohlman & Rebel Montez

Ballard Park
CHIRP concerts are a free summer music series in Ballard Park located in the heart of Ridgefield. CHIRP is totally funded by individual and foundation donations as well as contributions from local businesses. CHIRP Concerts are co-sponsored by the town of Ridgefield through its Parks & Recreation, and The Ridgefield Press. View the complete lineup here

Sculpture Garden Family Tour: Stella’s Stars

The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum

CHIRP Concerts at Ballard Park

Third Weekends
Saturday, July 17th and Sunday, July 18th
The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum
Visit the Museum for free the third weekend of every month. See our current exhibitions, view exhibition-related films in The Studio, and listen to audio tours led by the curators via your smartphone or device. As a founding member of both Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, and one of Rolling Stones’ 100 Greatest Guitarists, Jorma Kaukonen has remained one the most respected interpreters of American roots, blues and rock for more than 50 years.

Jim Breuer – Live and Let Laugh

Named one of Comedy Central’s 100 Greatest Standups of All Time, SNL-alum, and freewheeling New York bred comic-storyteller Jim Breuer brings 20 years of stand-up to the stage. Known for his charismatic stage antics, dead-on impressions, and family-friendly stand-up, Breuer is a fan-favorite who keeps everyone laughing in the aisles!

Music at the Museum

Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center
In collaboration with Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra, Keeler Tavern Museum is excited to once again present a summer series of diverse, casual outdoor performances. This live music series is free every Monday evening this summer. Performers include musicians from the RSO, along with other fantastic local artists and bands.

Bow WOW Art Dogs in Ridgefield

Presented by ArtFul Visual Arts Initiative (ArtFul)
Bow WOW Art Dogs is a community-wide event that benefits ROAR Animal Rescue, The Ridgefield Guild of Artists, and The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum. ArtFul’s inaugural public art event celebrates the power of visual arts in our community. As you stroll through the Town of Ridgefield, get to know the Bow WOW Art Dogs and save the date for the Leader of the Pack auction event in September.
