The Women’s Center Annual Hearts of Hope Breakfast
Fox Hill Inn, Brookfield
February 5th, 2020
The 12th Annual Hearts of Hope Breakfast will be held on February 5th to support the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury. Felicia Paduano will be honored with the Service Above Self Award for her tremendous support of the Women’s Center as a tireless volunteer and winner of the New England Patriots Foundation 2019 Myra Kraft Community MVP Award. The guest speaker this year is Amy Polacko of Ridgefield, who will share her story and talk about what empowered her to become an advocate against domestic abuse. Get your tickets here!

Clinical Nutritionist and Nutritional Therapist Elizabeth Archibald, MPH,RDN will discuss ways to decrease stress and anxiety in your children and in yourself. You will learn how what to eat can affect mood, cognitive function, and energy. This is part of the Wellness Education Series and is free for Recreation Center members and $10 for non-members.

Votes for Women: “I Now Pronounce You Lucy Stone”

Join us for this free one-woman performance by and with Judith Kalaora, founder and artistic director of History At Play. Lucy Stone was the first woman from Massachusetts to earn a college degree, a fierce abolitionist, and women’s rights activist. This performance is part of Ridgefield’s Votes for Women series, which explores the history of the women’s suffrage movement and celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment.

The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra performs Igor Stranvinsky’s “Octet”, Francis Poulenc’s “Sinfornietta” and George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue”, featuring acclaimed soloist Conrad Tao, all under the direction of Maestro Yuga Cohler. Conrad Tao has appeared worldwide as a pianist and composer, and has been dubbed a musician of “probing intellect and open-hearted vision” by The New York Times.
